OceanPod
OceanPod is a new offshore data collection platform which helps improve the design, planning and environmental consenting phases for the offshore wind industry. The platform is a versatile solution providing developers with a single turn-key option for advanced data collection:
- Wind : bankable wind data using ZephIR
- Wave : data for metocean studies and validation of numerical models and derived predictions
- Tidal : hydrodynamic characteristics used in the validation of metocean morphology for construction seabed studies
- Marine Ornithology : movement data including night-time and low visibility conditions along with complimentary techniques (boat-based, aerial/HiDEF or visual observations).
- Marine Mammal : Passive Acoustic Monitoring (PAM) equipment, C-POD/T-POD and marine mammal tracking sonar. OceanPod can also be used as a base station for tracking/downloading GPS data from animal-borne instrumentation, providing individual-based modelling of movements for assessment for example, seals
- Navigation : detect vessel activity using marine radar for Maritime Tracking Surveys informing Navigation Risk Assessments as part of the consenting process.
- Scour : assessment of potential scour at the location.
- General Observations : ecological, environmental and navigation observation
- Data Management and Reporting : data download, storage of raw dataand integration of Ocean Pod data with other site surveys to manage and produce a full report to submit within Environmental Statements.
Services such as wave radar and CCTV are also available upon request. If there are any services that have not been considered we would be more than happy to assess the requirements and the suitability for use with OceanPod.
