Description: Natural Power acted as lead design, environmental and consents management consultants through the development phase of the 180MW Robin Rigg project on behalf of TXU Europe/Babcock and Brown, and were successful in securing the numerous development consents for the site, the first offshore wind farm to be developed in Scottish waters. Natural Power have subsequently provided ongoing environmental monitoring through the pre-construction and construction phases, and now supply high-voltage switching and management services to
the operational site owner, E.ON.

Naikun Wind Development | Canada | Up to 110 Turbines

Services: Site Anemometry with ZephIR.

Description: Natural Power provided NaiKun with a ZephIR system to deploy on their world class meteorological station. ZephIR has been used on site since 2007 as the sole source of anemometry providing a bankable wind regime across the proposed wind farm location. ZephIR provides wind measurements up to 200m from ground level including direction and speed at five user defined heights. ZephIR has achieved high data availability for the past 3 years helping to demonstrate it’s reliability and suitability in such challenging conditions. Triton Knoll Wind Farm | RWE NPower Renewables | UK | Up to 1800MW

Services: Wind Resource Assessment, Energy Yield Analysis, Turbine Technology Advice, Site Layout Optimisation, Definition of Wind Data Collection Strategy.

Description: Project developer RWE npower renewables appointed Natural Power as a key consultant at the preplanning stage on the Triton Knoll Wind Farm, located approximately 33km (18 nautical miles) off the Lincolnshire coast in the Greater Wash.

Natural Power’s commission formed part of a multi-consultancy consortia to complete a pre-FEED study (Front end engineering and Design). This collaboration between multiple firms is a reflection of the broad base of skills necessary for the development of offshore wind energy; Natural Power contributed their proven skills in offshore wind resource assessment, wind data collection, energy yield prediction and turbine layout optimisation.
