Melogale - how does it work?

At the core of Melogale is a sophisticated downtime analysis tool, aiming to give a clear picture of all turbine activity from commissioning to the present day. This includes:

Software pre-processing

• Identification of turbine failure timings
• Meteorological analysis
• Grid availability
• Application of pattern-matching algorithms to SCADA data

Operator post-processing

• Alterations to meta-data according to on-site reporting
• Categorisation of failures according to subsystem and contractual definitions
• Derivation of new algorithms to improve pattern-matching
• Verification and cross-checking of available data

Finally, meteorological analysis is applied to give an accurate, benchmarked picture of gains and losses so that every last kilowatt-hour of the budget can be traced.
