ZephIR - applications in the wind industry
The accurate prediction of energy yields are fundamental to the success of wind farm projects. Yield prediction accuracy increases by collecting high quality data from numerous points throughout a wind farm and at heights across the full turbine height. This density of data collection is difficult and expensive to achieve with traditional anemometry masts alone. In addition, traditional anemometry masts raise significant associated issues including the need for building permits and health & safety concerns.
With more than 50 systems deployed worldwide for remote wind speed assessment up to 200m, our Customers range from renewable energy consultancies to large-scale utilities, and from turbine manufacturers to research institutes.
ZephIR is being used for a number of applications including:
- site prospecting, assessment and model verification
- turbine micro-siting
- power curve assessments
- permanent wind farm anemometry
- operational wind farm analysis
- site repowering
