We’ve secured a new contract under our framework agreement with SSEN Transmission to deliver ground investigation services for the onshore section of the Eastern Green Link 5 (EGL5) high voltage direct current (HVDC) cable route that will carry up to 2GW of clean energy between Aberdeenshire and Lincolnshire - enough to power two million homes.
Awarded under SSEN Transmission's engineering framework, the contract will see our team undertake a comprehensive programme of ground investigation works along the proposed onshore HVDC cable route. The investigations will provide critical geotechnical and geoenvironmental data to support the design and development of one of the UK's major electricity transmission infrastructure projects being developed to ensure the efficient and effective connection and transmission of offshore wind.
Planning and preparation works are well underway, with physical works scheduled to commence towards the end of August 2026.
We will draw on our extensive experience in delivering complex ground investigation programmes for energy infrastructure, applying our multidisciplinary expertise to safely manage works across multiple sites while supporting the delivery of a resilient electricity network.
