Academic engagement - engineering tradeshow at Strathclyde University

On the 24th of April, Head of Innovation Craig Bradley, and Caitlin Jamieson from the People & Culture team, attended the Engineering Tradeshow at Strathclyde University. This prestigious event brought together industry leaders, academics, and students to showcase the latest advancements in engineering and technology.

Caitlin and Craig had the opportunity to engage with various exhibitors, each demonstrating a keen interest in cutting-edge technologies and sustainable solutions that could play a part in the low-carbon energy system of the future.

Some of the noteworthy projects included the use of A.I. to help Distribution Grid Management, Battery Energy Storage Optimisation and a future model of the Transmission Network to help the deployment of large-scale renewable projects.  All topics of keen interest to Natural Power, with an eye on the future.

Academic engagement such as this provides a platform to exchange ideas, establish valuable connections, and explore potential collaborations, not only for innovation, but for acquiring talented new recruits to drive the business forward.

Craig was also grateful to accept an invitation to join the Industry Advisory Board at Strathclyde, which gives Natural Power an opportunity to influence teaching, course content and student engagement in the direction that best aligns with our company objectives.

Craig explained, “I am keen to help support the business achieve all we can through innovation and R&D and academic engagement such as this is a fantastic tool to expand our knowledge, find the next generation of talented employees and place ourselves at the forefront of renewable energy.”
