About the project
The client asked us to perform a complete assessment of all MV infrastructures: high‑voltage switchgear, transformer, substation, turbine switchgear, as well as the internal inspection of MV installations as part of lockout and isolation operations.
Outcome
Our review of the high‑voltage switchgear revealed two major issues: an ionisation defect inside the switchgear and an interlocking defect in the earthing control system. During the disconnection procedures, these defects appeared, which made it impossible to re‑energise the wind farm.
The client, who was on site, authorised us to further investigate the issue. We precisely identified the cause preventing the re‑energisation of the site, defined the corrective actions to be taken, and listed the parts to be replaced.
The client immediately contacted the company responsible for the substation maintenance so they could intervene with the identified spare parts. Thanks to this coordination, the delivery substation and the entire wind farm were brought back online in less than two hours.
