Inspections - EoC Gamesa G58 - End of contract inspection

Turbine and sunset

About the project

As our client's WTGs approached the end of their contract, they looked to us to perform a comprehensive assessment of the turbines to establish a highly accurate statement of their condition and determine the quality of the maintenance performed during the contract period.

Outcome

Following the assessment, our team was able to provide the client with a clear overview of critical and major issues affecting the turbines, identification of maintenance shortcomings, and increased awareness that the turbines represented a high safety risk for technicians and a significant fire risk related to high voltage.

We identified severe and imminent defects in the high‑voltage systems. In certain cases, and due to safety requirements, we implemented temporary corrective measures to protect future technicians and to limit liability in case of an incident.

What we did to achieve this result

These results were made possible thanks to our expertise in high‑voltage systems, our technical knowledge of Gamesa G58 turbines, the use of technical documentation and manufacturer references, and sharing applicable legal and safety standards with the client.

We provided recommendations and retrofit solutions to reduce fire risk on the remaining turbines, considering the explosion and fire that occurred on turbine No. 5, directly linked to the same critical defects identified.

A valued partner

We do not merely produce a basic condition report. We adopt an educational and explanatory approach, describing the root causes of problems, possible solutions, and technical measures to implement. This makes our support highly appreciated by our clients.
